A full-time, exempt position assisting the Program Coordinator in administering, managing, and operating the Program. Supervises and directs employees and ensures that veterans receive high quality care in accordance with Agency policies, procedures, and practices.    

  • Provides support, supervision, and direction to Peer Assistants and Behavioral Health Counselors including orientation, training, performance evaluation, professional development, and ensures the completion of job responsibilities.
  • Maintains a Bridge Housing caseload of 5-15 veterans.
  • Participates in program development and initiatives implementation.
  • Provides case management support and on-call coverage to employees and veterans for crisis intervention and emergency assistance.
  • Assists Program Coordinator in overseeing and ensuring that the program adheres to regulatory, stakeholder, and accreditation standards.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with referral sources and other community agencies.
  • Includes referral sources, case workers, therapists, family members, or other advocates in the recovery process when authorized by a veteran.
  • Participates as a team member in the maintenance, care, and safety of the facility.
  • Ensures accuracy and consistency with Agency fiscal and billing procedures.
  • Transports veterans in agency vehicles in a safe, cautious and responsible manner.
  • Documents service delivery accurately and timely.
  • Ensures veteran confidentiality according to agency policies.
  • Provides on-site program supervision.
  • Participates in team, residence, supervision, and training meetings.
  • Functions as a team member: covering shifts, facilitating groups, participating in program activities, communicating all relevant information to other team members, and covering co-workers’ duties as needed.

 Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree strongly preferred in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, or in a related field. 
  • Mental health or human services experience.
  • Knowledge of veterans’ issues, mental illness, addiction, and homelessness.
  • Completed coursework or training in substance use.
  • Valid NJ Driver’s License with a good driving record.
  • Veteran preferred; Bilingual preferred.
